I baked an apple pie with my husband on that day. I made the filling, and he took care of the rest. It was a guess work how much ingredients to use, but it turned out to be really nice. As far as I remember, I cooked sliced apples in a pot with butter, raisins, sugar, a bit of apple juice, cinnamon, and a drop of vannila extract. It was another way of using up apples. I think we decided to make it as the apples were getting old.
